Erika Howard is a PGY1 pharmacy resident at CarePathRx pharmacy services, where she is dedicated to optimizing medication management and improving patient outcomes in both acute and home infusion settings. She has a strong clinical interest in infectious diseases, medication safety, and the impact of social determinants of health (SDOH) on patient care.
As part of her residency, Erika is leading a research project examining the effects of SDOH on individuals with Primary Immunodeficiency Disorder (PIDD), with the goal of enhancing patient care strategies within home infusion therapy. Her findings will contribute to advancing healthcare practices and guiding interventions that support vulnerable patient populations. She will be presenting this research at the NHIA National Conference in Washington, D.C., and the University of Pittsburgh’s Research Day.
Beyond her research, Erika actively participates in interdisciplinary teams, mentors pharmacy students, and collaborates on initiatives to optimize antimicrobial stewardship. She is passionate about evidence-based practice, patient advocacy, and continuous professional development in the evolving landscape of pharmacy.
